Alessandro Cangelosi
I’m a freelance Lighting TD and FX TD, (sometime I got hired as Generalist TD and/or CG Supervisor too), with more than 20 years of professional experience on different kind of projects for companies and agencies all around the world. I had great opportunities collaborating with great team/artists working on site and by remote. I’ve experiences related to VFX/3D projects like motion pictures, commercials and videogames, I was hired as TD, 3D artist and Sequence Lead, so I’ve a complete knownledge about the market, project management/planning, problem solving, client management and pipeline development. Working with different companies gave me the possibility to adapt to different pipelines, workflow and tools giving me right skills and know-how to be able to find best solution to reach client’s requests within time and budget. Since 15 years I work mainly by remote from my personal office where I’ve all software/hardware needed for different kind of jobs with no problems about complexity and size, (I’ve various workstations/simulation nodes and a CPU/GPU renderfarm) I’m Autodesk 3ds max beta tester since 20 years and I’m part of Charter Group since 5 years. I was beta tester for various products, (Bifrost, FinalRender, Lucid, Ornatrix, Maya, etc etc). Computer graphics, VFX and technology, are my love since I was a child, it was my passion since the beginning and it became my daily job thanks to the efforts of mine and my loved dad. Today I’m still working hard on different projects, solving new problems, finding new ways and techniques, and doing a lot of R&D. I’m a VFX instructor too and I’ve a deep experience for it, (I was 3ds max instructor for national and international companies like CGCookie Inc and Gnomon School). Now I’m head of Proteus VFX School, my own Visual Effect School, and still collaborating with Gnomon Workshop. I’ve a deep understanding of generalist tasks but my main skills are look development and visual effects.
