Nelson Souto 3D Generalist and VFX Compositor Hello, My name is Nelson Souto and I am a 3D VFX artist from Brazil looking for an opportunity to keep growing both as an individual and as a team player. I am constantly seeking to acquire new skills in order to take on all the challenges that a big project can have. I also aim to work at my best as a team since working with peers can be faster and more effective. I initially learned 3D VFX on my own and quickly fell in love. I enrolled in a school in Brazil, but I soon understood that in order to get the best education I would need to study abroad. A few months later I transferred to the Vancouver Film School to specialize in VFX and graduated in 2013. Parallel to this, I also went to Lost Boys, a VFX school for post production. In 2018 I freelanced for some small studios in Brasilia, as well as continuously studying to acquire more skills. I soon discovered that I wanted to know all about the pipeline process for movies and other bigger projects, which paved the way to become a generalist. My experience for the past two and half years has been very important for my development. I have been working at 44 Toons in Brazil under a few different rolls. For the first six months I worked as a generalist doing a lot modeling, texturing and rendering. After that, I worked on post production in a live action movie that will be out on Netflix, doing shots as a visual effects compositor. And for the past year, I have been working on another movie for Netflix, this time as an visual effects supervisor.
