Our Story
CGHero was founded in 2016 to address a growing gap in creative production. With more than 20 years in the creative industries, founder Jonathan Lloyd, formerly Vice President at TurboSquid, saw companies struggling to keep pace with increasingly complex projects while relying on rigid team structures. Studios needed a faster, more flexible way to engage creative talent without maintaining large teams between productions.
As immersive 3D, VFX, and technically demanding projects have become more common, the challenge to find suitable skilled and available talent for projects is putting strain on studios.
CGHero was created to provide scale and flexibility for production teams, co-creating production on-demand, giving companies a better way to augment teams and deliver production without the limitations of traditional team structures.
Our Platform
As CGHero evolved, so did the complexity and scale of the projects we supported. To meet these demands, we built a purpose-built co-creation platform that brings industry-vetted creatives together into focused, production-ready strike teams.
Our platform enables close collaboration between clients and talent, providing the structure needed to deliver complex work to clear specifications, timelines, and budgets, without relying on traditional agency models.
Teams can now easily augment with our network of vetted freelance Heroes and Studios. We manage all of the admin overhead from onboarding KYC/AML to project milestones, timesheets and payments.
